We are Local. We are affiliated with Local First Lexington. We find it extremely important for you to know you are in partnership with a true local company that supports local individuals, businesses and charities. We are not a chain or franchise. Frank Gaydovchik, the owner started his military career at Ft Knox, Kentucky and finished at Ft Campbell, Kentucky as a member of the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment. This unit was the unit featured in the movie Black Hawk Down. He is also a Desert Storm Veteran. Additionally, Frank is also a graduate of the University of Kentucky with a BA in Education. Please see our other team member profiles (to come) as we find it important for you to know our local lawn and tree care applicators. Mr. Green Thumb was established in Lexington in 1997. We have a vested interest in Lexington and support all things local as much as possible.

We are also involved in the fostering and adoption of pets through The Friends of the Animals of Jessamine County. This organization goes to surrounding counties’ kill shelters and pulls adoptable pets. We then foster pets and take them to the Brannon Rd. Pets Smart on the weekends to be shown for adoption. Through the years, Mr. Green Thumb has had over two dozen pets adopted. We love dogs and cats!!!!!

Bee Safe Organic Land Care is our organic component at Mr. Green Thumb. We are able to perform lawn care without the use of synthetic chemicals or fertilizers. The results were nice lush lawns. Were there weeds? Yes. But we were able to work on them throughout the year on the regularly scheduled applications. If you are looking for an organic approach, please let me know and we can transition you to organic. As we move in this direction, you will even see the Bee Safe components intermingled in our synthetic programs.
